Basically in less than a year I’m singing better than I ever thought I would ever be able to and I’m loving it. To be able to sing like Whitney doesn’t seem like a wild fantasy anymore. Studying with James I have developed a strong and powerful, natural tone. The method that James teaches has developed my voice naturally because it is designed to work with your body bringing together all the vital physical and mental aspects that are required to achieve a natural tone.

I have seen my voice develop from a high pitched screech to a nice natural tone and then to a full-bodied resonating natural tone. I have also added another octave.

I joined AML Golden Voice Studio in June 2007 with the goal of being able to sing a song all the way through without cutting off at the high notes.

I had no prior musical background or training except 20 years of singing in the shower experience. I began learning with instructor James and have never looked back. James is a fantastic teacher, his naturally understanding nature really makes you feel comfortable and at ease when you’re ‘just learning’ and complimentary when you hit the right notes. I have felt nothing but confidence in his teaching methods and the AML way of natural vocal production.

Since joining with AML Golden Voice Studio I have noticed tremendous improvements in my vocal control and ability. Coming from a non-musical background I had no prior understanding of musical terms, breathing techniques, vocal exercises or control and all these have been taught to me in a logically structured order. Each class is so much fun I actually can’t wait for the following week to get back in the studio and continue developing my vocal instrument. I’ve dramatically increased my vocal range at both ends of the scale and I’ll be singing my first full song at the end of year soiree.

I have been taking vocal lessons with James for over a year and a half now. I started out with no previous education in natural vocal production.

I used to think I was a baritone or even a bass due to my ability to reach low notes but not the higher ones. Through lessons I have opened up my range from the lower register to the falsetto register. Simultaneously I have also learnt vastly about musicality and most of all the importance of a correct technique in vocal production. There are plenty of ways of singing but there is only one way of doing it naturally, thus preserving your voice over time. Overall, my experience with James has been an incredibly exciting and valuable one.
